The Omaha Botanical Gardens

In 1982, the vision of a well-known Omahan, Helena Street, launched the idea for what will become one of the region's most beautiful and educational cultural attractions. Through the generosity of various foundations and individuals, the plan is now in motion to build a botanical garden that will be recognized throughout the nation.

The Omaha Botanical Gardens is expanding to cover a 115-acre site of natural woods and rolling terraces nestled high along a bluff on the west bank of the Missouri River. This $16.6 million campaign is to be completed in three-phases, with an estimated completion date of summer 2002.

One visit to this young and growing garden will bring you back time and time again. Whether you're young or not so young, an avid gardener or a novice, there will be something for everyone, and the benefits will last forever. Witness the evolution of these gardens and see for yourself how wonderful bringing a dream to reality can be.
