The historic Mandan Park is located at the south
end of the Omaha's riverfront parks. Nestled among
steep wooded bluffs on the Missouri River, the
park includes scenic overlooks and a pleasurable
winding drive. The park's north entry features
a mound of native plantings that lead to an accessible
walkway that spirals upward to an expansive view
of the river valley. At the south end, a new playground
and picnic area provide activities for the entire
family. The kids especially will enjoy the sand
play area complete with buried artifact reproductions
of fossils and tools awaiting discovery.
